Terms of use
Last updated 29 October 2026. These terms are a practical summary for readers of automatesmith.com. They are not a solicitor's draft, and they do not remove rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Who you are dealing with
The site is operated by Sandun Balasooriya from Liverpool, United Kingdom. Contact hello@automatesmith.com.
The guides are information, not advice
Articles explain tools and setups. They are general information. They are not legal, tax, accounting, or professional advice for your business. You are responsible for checking current vendor pricing, for how you process personal data, and for complying with law that applies to you, including UK GDPR, marketing rules and consumer law. Commands and configuration samples can go stale when a vendor ships a new version. Read the official docs linked from the guide before you rely on a step in production.
Accounts and third parties
n8n, Make, Zapier, OpenAI and the other products named on the site are third parties. Their terms govern your use of them. AutomateSmith does not operate those services and cannot promise their uptime, pricing or features.
Affiliate links and ads
Some links are affiliate links, marked as such and described in the affiliate disclosure. Ads, if shown, are labelled and load only after consent when AdSense is configured. A commercial relationship is not a promise that a tool is right for you.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the site, attempt to break it, or send unlawful content through the contact form. Do not scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other readers.
Intellectual property
The text, logo and layout of AutomateSmith are owned by the operator unless a page says otherwise. You may quote a short extract with a link. You may not republish a whole guide. Tool names belong to their owners and are used so you can identify the product.
Liability
Guides are provided in good faith. To the extent the law allows, AutomateSmith is not liable for loss of profit, lost data, or a workflow that fails because a vendor changed an API, a price, or a screen. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that UK law does not allow to be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain.
Paid work
Consulting work described on Work with me is agreed in a separate written scope. These website terms do not set a fee.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory protection you have in the country where you live.
